Can I please have referrals to a low carb high fat/ketogenic doctor or dietician I can talk to ? Started on this diet initially and all ok, used to the lifestyle and I quite like it. Lost some weight, knee pain much improved, BG levels reasonably good now.
Just that I seem to get heart palpitations recently and BP, which is at optimal levels from before is now slightly elevated. So am quite concerned and have also taken some potassium, magnesium and fish oil supplements to ensure I have sufficient nutrients and electrolytes. Appreciate your advice this and also referrals. Thanks and regards.
Your best bet would be to seek out a Sport Medicine doctor in Singapore, who are able to advice you on nutrition, weight loss and exercise, as well as to link you up with a dietitian if necessary. Changi General Hospital has got a very good Sport Medicine Department set-up.
Even though I’m partial towards low carbs/high protein myself, I can’t advocate a diet that’s high in fat (nor would most other doctors) due to the associated heart disease risks.
It’s important to seek out a doctor regarding your new heart palpitations to determine the cause, as an ECG is an simple test that can help your doctor screen for and rule out insidious conditions.
