Dr Michelle Chia attained her bachelor's from the National University of Singapore (NUS) then went for her post-graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Singapore General Hospital.
Upon years of training, Dr Chia has had extensive field experience in several sub-specialties like reproductive medicine for sub-fertility issues and maternal-fetal medicine for high-risk pregnancies. Her expertise includes dealing with women’s health, general gynaecological issues and antenatal care for pregnancy. She is also certified to perform aesthetic procedures including Botox, fillers, and lasers.
Dr Chia has conducted much research in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with her work receiving recognition locally and at multiple international gynaecological conferences such as the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology World Congress in South Africa (2017) and the FIGO World Congress in Brazil.

The Mirena IUD is an extremely effective method of long acting reversible contraception (LARC) that can help prevent an unwanted pregnancy. On top of that, it is also useful to manage conditions such as heavy menstrural periods and painful period cramps. Some common side effects after getting a Mirena IUD fitted can include some irregular spotting which can usually resolve after a few months, following which you will not experience any bleeding at all. This is due to the progesterone hormone that is inside the Mirena which keeps the womb lining thin.

Dr Chia has done extensive research in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, having her work presented at multiple international gynaecological conferences such as the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology World Congress, the world’s largest O&G conference in South Africa in 2017 and the FIGO World Congress in Brazil. Her research work has also been recognized in several established local conferences.
Dr Chia was awarded the prestigious SingHealth OBGYN Academic Clinical Program research grant in 2017 for her research work in Contraception Awareness & Practices Amongst Women in Singapore.
With the aim to provide holistic well-rounded care for all women’s health problems, she was also the first Obstetrics and Gynaecology Resident to undergo a rotation in Women’s Dermatology in KK Hospital.
Her wealth of experience over the years makes her well qualified and well rounded in the field of women’s health.
